Exploring the Best Family Parks In Memphis 

In a city with over 600,000 people, parks are lovely addition to the community. Especially for families, parks are a necessary component for living in a city where yards may be smaller or non-existent. Children need a place to run, play, and meet up with friends. Parents, caretakers, and even single adults also need the space to exercise, get some fresh air, or just take a mental break from a long week of work and caring for a family.

There are many smal, but wonderful, parks scattered throughout Shelby County. These small parks are great additions to communities because they are usually more accessible. But there are three parks that offer more opportunity for family fun and much more space to enjoy.

Overton park, Shelby Farms Park, and Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park are all in Shelby County and all offer an abundance of things to do with your family! Memphis is truly a special place to have access to several large parks all within one county.                 

Welcome to the Best Parks in Memphis! My name is Emily and I love nothing more than to spend a day at a great park with my husband and our four children.

We like to take walks, ride bikes, or simply let our kids enjoy the freedom and fun of wide open spaces. My goal is to inform families about a few of the great parks worth visiting in the Memphis area and the many benefits of spending time in a park. Because of Covid-19, there has never been a better time for families to enjoy all the mental and physical benefits that our parks have to offer.
